Turkey Day Centennial Alumni Game

Although the Turkey Day Game is turning 100 years old, you are not! As a part of this historic event, the Webster and Kirkwood alumni have organized an alumni football game to coincide with this year's activities. It is proposed that a flag or touch game be played according to decade squads, but details will emerge once the team rosters are filled and the players have provided input as to how the game will be played, how much playing time each squad desires and what rules will be used for play and scoring. Here is a proposed simplified schedule to be played in 15 minute quarters:

First Quarter
15:00-7:30 1940s and 1950s composite team
7:30-0:00 1960s team

Second Quarter
5:00-7:30 1970s team
7:30-0:00 1980s team

Third Quarter
15:00-7:30 1990s team
7:30-0:00 2000s team

Fourth Quarter
15:00-7:30 mixed team
7:30-0:00 mixed team

Matt Lechner is organizing the team for Kirkwood and Shawn Greene for Webster. Jack Jones and Ken Manwarring are the coaches for Webster and Dale Collier and Mike Wade are the coaches for Kirkwood and, just like when the rivalry begin, the coaches are eligible to play in the game! There is a basic registration fee which includes a t-shirt and premium registration fee that includes an embroidered rugby jersey. Either registration puts a player in the game. In addition to a shirt, our corporate sponsors, Anheuser-Busch and Llywelyn's Pub, will pay for food and beer at LlywelynÕs Pub following the game. If the Missouri-Kansas game is being played at 2:30, then it will be shown at the pub. Consider it; twenty dollars gets you a game, a shirt, beer and food and a really good time. What a bargain!
